I just noticed that the Internet Movie Database SC remake page has been changed from 2010 to 2011. So it seems the remake will be released on time to celebrate Short Circuit's 25th anniversary!
Sounds interesting... but I'm not altogether too excited about the direction this movie seems to be heading in. It might even be turned into a CGI animated flick - but that's gotta be better than a lousy live action starring a kid from a dysfunctional family trying to act against GreenScreen CGI Johnny...
I'm not too excited so far... hum. This is gonna be hard... real hard. Seeing our favorite movie being remade. Fun but hard. My heart is torn. I hope I'm wrong too! (Hi Virginia!)
I feel like I need to get a better attitude about this. (I've been depressed for a couple days) So I am.
It's just that I was so affected by Short Circuit as a kid that it really is a hallowed thing for me. I feel like God used the movie to keep my heart heading in the right direction during my growing up years. So it means more than I can say. I pray a lot about how this will turn out and for the people involved. And I and hope that it will be something that our generation can take their kids to see.
I still also hope somehow to get involved.
So pardon my frustration. It's hard to keep the feelings from getting out.
And much love to everyone here for your unabashed dedication to something I still hold very dear.

Exactly. I couldn't have said it better myself. I really hope the new movie will turn out great. Whatever the movie turns out to be, I think the moment in the movie theater just before the movie starts will be the greatest thing ever.
Glad to read I'm not the only one to be so dedicated to Short Circuit.
my biggest fear for this movie is they will try to kill him off like they did in sc 2.....sc2 turned a kids movie into a traumatic event for lots of youngsters.... i just imagine them messing him up like they did in sc 2 ...and ruining the movie for me...
